Revised Plan For One Evening Meeting Per Month Beginning in January:  At our December 4th board meeting it was decided that we should make 2 slight revisions in our plan for one evening meeting per month. When we asked Sharon Cravens about providing an evening meal, she said that it would be more convenient for Fresh Ideas to provide food service if we begin our meeting at 6:30 pm rather than 7:00 pm. and we agreed to this request.  It was also suggested that we change the date of the evening meetings to the Monday before the last Wednesday instead of the last Monday of the month.  This will assure that we will not have 2 meetings in any week.  April, July, and December are the only months next year when the last Monday falls in the same week as the first Wednesday of the next month.  So the April and July evening meetings will be on the 23rd, and there is no Rotary meeting at the end of December.

After 5 months we will evaluate member satisfaction with the evening meetings and decide whether to continue.  Hopefully, they will provide additional opportunities for members and guests to attend.  It was also considered that evening meetings might be well suited for award presentations or special programs when friends and family members could be invited.

Trivia Night, Chili Supper, and Silent Auction:   Beginning with our first meeting in January, we will have a sign up list for volunteers to bring food and work at Trivia Night on February 3rd.

Last year we ran short of food and beverages, so we will be asking more members to bring chili or perhaps another kind of soup.  Any donations of items for the silent auction would also be appreciated.  We are hoping that many of our members will organize teams, and it would be great if we can get more participants from Boonville or Columbia.

Names of 2018-19 Fayette Rotary Officers Must be Submitted to District 6080  at the beginning of the year.  We will present a slate of officers for election at our first meetings in January.

Rotary Volunteers Will Be Working at the Food Pantry on Dec. 19th and 21st.   Packing will be done on Tuesday 19th at 7:00 pm.  Distribution will be on Thursday, Dec. 21st.

New Reflective Rotary Road Signs have been received and will be installed on the north Hwy 5 and South Hwy 240 approaches to Fayette.

2 Community Betterment Projects Were Completed in November.  Twenty one native oak trees were planted at various locations in the area, and the new bleachers were delivered to Howard County Fairgrounds.  Gale Schafer made a permanent Fayette Rotary sign for the bleachers.

We have submitted an article about our projects and photos for the next District 6080 newsletter.

Seasonal Gathering at the Lembke’s.  On December 20, 6 p.m., Linda and Roger are hosting a Gathering for all Rotarians, spouses and guests.  Bring a snack/hors d'oeuvre and join the party!

* No Rotary Meetings on December 20 or 27th.  Merry Christmas and enjoy the holidays !
